Clay Pidgeon Shooting

Clay shooting is synonymous with Devon country life and a fun way to spend a morning or afternoon for both novices and experienced shooters. Schools provide all equipment and no license is necessary, so if you’ve never tried clay shooting, why no give it a go?


Geoff Farenden

Local resident Geoff Farenden is an experienced shooter and instructor, offering lessons on the lower meadow of the property, on request.

Packages start from £30 for 25 clays and Geoff is happy to tailor packages and instruction to your needs. Please note, there is no direct affiliation with the hotel, so please make arrangements directly by emailing Geoff at the address below.


Southwest Shooting School

About an hour north near Ilfracombe, Southwest Shooting School offers ‘Have-ago Specials’ as well as tuition. Packages are available for individuals and small groups and all levels of experience are welcome.  

All equipment is provided by the school. More information and booking is available through their website.


Ashcombe Adventure

An hour in the other direction, south, past Exeter, Ashcombe Adventure Centre Half offer tuition and experience days for novice and expert shooters.

Ashcombe also offer archery sessions for small groups with a minimum age of 12. Details of packages, directions and booking are available on their website.
